I know, it’s not Thursday.
So why is this email coming at you today?
Well for those in the US, Thursday this week is a holiday (July 4th) so I imagine most people won’t care about their emails this day.
But also, I want to do a little bit of celebrating for this week with a host of free resources for you. Some you already knew about, and some may be new:
Podcast
Of course, you knew I had to start with this!
The podcast I co-host with Lucie Tesarova just finished it’s first season and we’re excited to come back in August with season 2!
Check out “The Art and Science of Difficult Conversations”, where we interview people who have overcome their own fear of difficult conversations, learn how they did it, and share tips and strategies to navigate hard conversations. Lucie and I also role play different common personal and professional situations to help you in your next conversation. You can hear it wherever you get your podcasts (Spotify, Apple, Youtube, etc.), or catch it here.
Whitepaper – Overcoming barriers to strategic implementation
Over the winter, I researched a question – why is it so hard for nonprofits to implement their strategic plans? Why do so many just sit on a shelf?
Well, I found great answers and published them in a whitepaper in the spring. It’s loaded with deep insights and amazing recommendations to get things done in any organization.
You can get your free copy here
Strategic Execution Assessment
If you’re interested in making sure your organization is strategically aligned, I created a free 5-minute quiz. It tests your organization’s readiness in areas such as process, leadership, and culture to make sure you’re on the right track.
Whitepaper – Influence
Last year, I also wrote another whitepaper on how to lead with influence without formal authority.
I’ll admit that it was originally written for HR and L&D folks, but since it’s been published and I’ve spoken to people about it, it’s become clear that the principles in it are applicable to everyone.
If you’re looking to build your internal network and improve your ability to get things done across your organization:
Grab a copy of the whitepaper here
Worksheets on building your influence and strategic relationships
As an add-on, I also have a bunch of worksheets to help walk you through the how to build strategic relationships.
HR webinar
HR tends to be a scary word, especially if you’ve been on the receiving end of discipline or investigations. But when done well, HR can be an incredible resource, both for managers and for employees.
In this panel discussion with 3 HR experts geared towards non-HR leaders, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the how and why of HR. Our panel of 3 HR experts will discuss:
– The myths of HR
– How to use the principles of HR if you don’t have an HR department
– How the work of HR helps you remain compliant, manage difficult employees, and function more effectively – How to manage difficult situations in a variety of settings (lack of formal HR, union environment, etc).

Performance Management Course
Hopefully this isn’t new for you, but if you’re looking for strategies to be better at coaching your employees, I have a course on effective performance coaching. It’s free, short, and to the point:Check out this link to a free 1-hour course
And BONUS – 1 more resource for y’all:
Difficult Conversations Course
Some of you may also know that I have a difficult conversations course.
And you may know that it’s actually not open for registration all year round, in fact, I only open for registration twice a year because I include 1:1 coaching as part of it. Well, the next time it’s opening for enrollment is September – just a little less than 2 months away!
